Summary of 2009

It’s been a weird year overall for me;

January

Returned to Coventry and back into work at Youmeo, full steam ahead on the upcoming BETA release in April.

Febuary

Still working on Youmeo BETA…

March

Again still working on Youmeo BETA. Released my mini Twitter application called Tweet O’Clock with Caleb. It was an instant hit and grabbed the number 1 trending spot on Twitter for a couple of hours.

April

Youmeo BETA is released to a small group of people and seems to be enjoying a new lease of life with this update. Work now moved to bug fixes and improving bits and pieces around the website.

May

Continued with the bug squashing and feature updating of April. SearchMerge was created and launched by Simon and myself. Originally named GoogleWith it was swiftly renamed to prevent any bad things landing on our desks. SearchMerge was a small hit with a couple of blogs covering it. Simon and I got a new 4 bedroom house by Coventry Canal or what you might call a “lad’s pad”.

June

Something went wrong resulting in Simon and myself going in a separate direction from Youmeo and starting GNRation. GNRation’s first product was put into production - Zood. Previous projects such as Tweet O’Clock, Screenkast and 19Sites are now housed under GNRation.

July

Development was now 24/7 on Zood to get this product to a releasable point before Spring 2010. Simon and I were invited to speak and present Zood at Tomorrow’s Web.

August

Simon and I presented at Tomorrow’s Web then got back to developing Zood.

September

Zood once again was the forefront of all activity.

October

Tweet O’Clock was released with more features and a better UI. Then we were swiftly back onto Zood.

November

Last month in Coventry so everything was rushed to fit it in. Simon and I attended Warwick University’s Global Entrepreneurship Week Internet Enterprise Day where we presented Zood and met some amazing people. Moved out of the amazing house by Coventry Canal.

December

Spent the month working remotely from Elgin, Scotland. Saw family and friends for Christmas, including some friends I hadn’t seen for 3 years. Was almost in a car crash. Made plans to move back into the West Midlands. Spent Christmas and New Year in Scotland.
